Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the additional R5,000 necessary?

There are a number of reasons for this shortfall:

  • Capital shortfall of R3.07 million
  • Only 55% of residents have paid their second deposits
  • 168 members signed agreements but haven’t paid second deposits
  • Additional legal costs (3 High Court cases)
  • Monthly financial management expenses (StreetSafe, contractors)
  • Increased construction costs (from R11.6m to R12.2m due to steel price increases)

Estimated collection: 620 residents × R5,000 = R3.1 million.
If more is collected than needed, credits will be applied to monthly contributions.
